No, I am naturally super anti-social and introverted person. Speaking for other hostel guests was hard for me too but after a while I kind of got used to it. And it made me fall in love with the hostel life. There is so many interesting people to meet. I don’t know if there is any way to pass that awkward start but good way is to just smile and say hello. After that it usually starts automatically. I have been meaning to write post to give advice for other shy people who want to try hostel living. Maybe I will try to write it now? Thanks for commenting and sorry for this messy answer 🙂

During my stay month long stay in Japan I just could not work up courage to talk to people at the hostel.(Hold a decent conversation at least) How do get past the initial awkwardness and simply start conversation? I am curious and want to learn more about other countries too. I was hoping my solo trip to Japan would help me a bit introverted-ness but after my travel I found out I am worst that I thought. XD hahah I should have tried harder.
